The Rock Spot Band Bill of Rights
 
     

The Rock Spot Will Provide You with:
o You will be listed in all of our advertisements, from print to radio, promoting your upcoming event. At times just a few bands on the bill will actually be mentioned based on space issues
o Your information will be updated on our website, as well as other listings sites like LansingLowDown.com and Eventful.com
o Your show information will be sent to all media, including local radio, print, and TV
o We will include you on all flyers and provide those to you for download
o On some occasions your show will be ticketed with GrooveTickets.com or, if you request, we can make sure it’s ticketed
o You WILL receive a confirmation email from me stating all the show information, including the exact money deal. There will be absolutely no ambiguity on what the deal is, load in, ages, costs, who you settle with, etc.
o We will send out random emails to all the bands on our email list with various music business articles and tips.
o We will respond to all your emails within a few days of receiving them (as in questions on a show, requests to be added as support for shows, etc)

YOU WILL NEED TO DO THE FOLLOWING:
o Make sure to have the show listed on your website, myspace, purevolume, etc
o Attend as many shows in the area as possible with handbills for your performance (you will be allowed to attend Rock Spot shows for free. Please don’t abuse this right and please be willing to pay if it’s a special event or near capacity)
o We will be more than happy to assist you in created a marketing plan and giving you tips on dealing with the media. Just email us.
o Make sure to flyer various areas in town. With The Rock Spot doing all of the above, we expect all the bands to do their part as well. If we both work together the success of the show will be great.
o It should go without saying, but just in case, please respect the staff and property of The Rock Spot. If there’s one thing we really hate, it’s finding out that one of the bands that performed at the venue had (insert disrespectful incident here) and that they need to be “banned”. There’s no reason for that. On the flip side, if there’s a situation that occurs to you at the club, please contact us as soon as possible and we will try to get the issue resolved.
